The Hiperboloide is a mastication apparatus, a periomiofunctional stimulator and a compensatory alternative in daily mastication. Through its hyperbolic form, with hardness of 35 Shore A (ideal to not overcharge the articular disk in the temperomandibular articulation (TMA)), and being insipid and inodorous, it allows to perform specific daily exercises to treat several pathologies.
Characteristics:
Form - Hyperbolic which is similar to the articular disk of TMA in cut.
Material - made of silicone, hardness (35 Shore A) allows non-
traumatizing exercises.
Sizes - There are five sizes of Hiperboloide They were fabricated according to the size of the teeth, and to the parabola formation.
The 5 sizes of Hiperboloide are:
XS : Extra small for children, teens;
S : Small for children from 4 to 10 years old;
M : Medium, indicated to teens, but it is often used by adults;
L : Large, with a robust constitution, indicated to patients with large teeth and wide parabola;
XL : Extra large, to increase the buccal opening, with gradual exercises, with the previous sizes (each one for 10 days using S, M, L) until it gets to XL.
THE HIPERBOLOIDE
Each package of Hiperboloide contains 10 units.
There are 2 kinds of displays:
-
Single size Package - containing 10 units of size XS or S or M or L or XL.
-
Variou sizes (DV) - containing 2 units of each size (2 x XS, 2 x S, 2 x M, 2 x L, 2 x XL).
The durability of the Hiperboloide depends on the mastication strength and of the state of anxiety the patient is.
After 7 days using the Hiperboloide, it has to be discarded and replaced by a new one to ensure the correct hardness for the exercises. The same Hiperboloide should not be used by different patients.
